LÜDECKE takes another step towards a sustainable production:
The company has successfully replaced all wrought materials made from machining steel and aluminium with lead-free alloys. These strategic decision does not only reflect the relevancy of this topic but also LÜDECKE´s commitment to an eco-friendly environment.

Reducing lead in production materials has become increasingly important in the last few years. Lead is a toxic heavy metal which can have serious effects on the environment and human health. The EU regulation 2011/65/EU (RoHS) and other international regulations set strict limits for the content of lead in products. For companies, changing to lead-free alloys is not just a question of legal compliance but also of ecological responsibility.

The decision to change to lead-free materials is based on LÜDECKE´s long-term vision of a sustainable production and responsible use of resources. “Our customers do not only expect high-quality products from us but also a high degree of environmental awareness. Changing to lead-free alloys in the long-term is an important step to meet these expectations and at the same time to take on our responsibility for the environment” explains CEO and head of sales Andreas Sperl.

For the requested changes to lead-free brass the necessary tests show significant progress. LÜDECKE offers its customers the possibility to check on request whether material changes are possible for further production series. “We are willing to show flexibility when it comes to our customers’ requests and to look for solutions to change to lead-free brass already today” emphasises Andreas Sperl. Through continuous testing with different materials and alloys this process is actively pushed forward.
