European plug profiles
The plastics processing industry contains all companies and processes that manufacture products, pre-finished goods, or functional components from raw plastics. This sector is highly relevant as it supplies a wide range of industries. The mostly utilised and efficient manufacturing process is plastic injection moulding. With this method, the melted plastic granulate is filled into an injection mould under high pressure and, after cooling and hardening, can be used as a finished component. Die casting, on the other hand, is part of the metal working industry, as in this case liquid metal (e.g. aluminium or zinc) is pressed into a permanent mould at very high pressure.
Different media
Temperature regulation is carried out using hot and cold water or oil. In some cases, various additives are used, which requires the materials (especially the O-ring) to be highly resistant.
Extreme temperatures
The range of temperatures applied in this industry is huge, extending from +10°C for cold water to maximum temperatures of +250°C with possible temperature fluctuations.
Frequent production and tool changes
Due to the growing variety of products and the decreasing batch sizes, the number of tool changes and machine downtimes are rising.
Compatibility
There are numerous suppliers of coupling systems and fittings on the market, as well as different system types, plug profile types and areas of application.
Efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Individual process steps should be optimised, tool change times reduced and productivity increased – while maintaining the high quality of the individual components.
Safety of personnel and equipment
The safety of employees and machinery is top priority. Extreme caution is required, as wrong product selection, incorrect installation or improper use can lead to serious damage.
