We only have one world
The sentence makes us aware of the importance of carefully dealing with our planet. Sustainable acting in the interest of the environment starts with each individual and is implemented at LÜDECKE in all areas of the company. This regards our products, the building and production as well as numerous other green activities.
CARBON FOOTPRINT
We calculated our carbon footprint for the first time back in 2023. We tried out various tools to calculate our carbon footprint in order to develop a dedicated tool for LÜDECKE. As a result, it will be possible to recalculate this figure in the future and use the original footprint as a benchmark. The tool is based on the standard DIN EN ISO 14064-1 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol along with its three different scopes.
In 2024, we were able to significantly reduce our greenhouse gas emissions again compared to 2022. This shows how well the new combined heat and power plant and PV system are working. Although direct emissions have increased, total energy-related emissions have been reduced.
Our sustainability projects and goals in the area of the environment

Energy
Energy
Energy is at the core of sustainability and plays a major role in the economic, social and environmental aspects. As we pursue energy-intensive activities, resulting in energy consumption comparable to roughly 1,000 households, we discovered the enormous potential of sustainability measures at an early stage and have already successfully implemented a number of them since. We’ve been the first special customer to purchase green electricity from Stadtwerke Amberg since 2012.
STATUS OF PROJECTS IN 2025
- Green energy: Carbon emissions reduced by 482 g/kWh
- Solar power: 2,500 modules with a total output of almost 1,000 kWp
- Cogeneration unit power: 248 kW electrical power
- Cogeneration unit heat: 258 kW thermal power
- Heat pump: 61 kW thermal power
