The food and beverage industry covers a sector that includes the processing, packaging, storage, and distribution of products for human consumption. While the food industry mainly converts agricultural products into foodstuff, the beverage industry produces and packages natural or conventional beverages.
Although this industry contains many different areas, all applications have one aspiration in common: the consistent maintenance of a clean and hygienic environment for maximum food safety. A hygienic factory includes the premises, machinery and equipment as well as the personnel, and forms the basic prerequisite for a safe manufacturing and high product quality.
Hardly any other industrial sector requires such a high degree of diligence. Even minimal contamination or process deviations can have serious healthand economic impacts.
Food safety
Food safety must always be guaranteed and risks to consumers strictly excluded. Even the smallest contamination or temperature deviations can destroy a product or cause health risks.
Good cleanliness and hygiene
Cleaning and disinfection measures take up a considerable amount of working time. After every product change or production downtime, rooms and equipment have to be thoroughly cleaned – often with a lot of time pressure. Poor hygiene can directly lead to production interruptions and cause significant damage.
Different media
Different media such as water, steam, compressed air or detergents (some with additives) and fluctuating, very high temperatures require particularly robust products that are versatile in application.
Regulatory requirements
In addition to continuous self-monitoring, various DIN standards as well as the EU Hygiene Regulation must be implemented. This applies to all industries that deal with commercial food.
Safety of personnel and equipment
The safety of employees and machinery is top priority. Extreme caution is required, as wrong product selection, incorrect installation or improper use can lead to serious damage.
