LBV and LÜDECKE together for insects

On the international day for the preservation of biodiversity, many activities took place in the LÜDECKE park:
Together with the LBV district association Amberg-Sulzbach, LÜDECKE organised an event addressing the topic "insects" for the pre-schoolers of DigiMINTKids and the pre-school facility of the Lebenshilfe.

In nice weather, the 26 children as well as the educational staff were able to learn a great deal together with the Green Company manager from LÜDECKE. Everybody was surprised that in the centre of an industrial area it is possible to make a significant contribution to the preservation of insects by laying out wildflower patches, meadow orchards and water areas.

LÜDECKE employee and beekeeper Florian Kodalle used various materials to explain the importance of beekeeping to the children. He showed the company beehives now already hosting 14 populations to all participants. Afterwards, Eva Nußbaumer, nature teacher and head of the children and teenager groups, used a child-friendly and illustrative approach to explain the characteristics and importance of insects. The children used natural materials to visualize their acquired knowledge and afterwards were rewarded with an insect medal.

At the end of the event, the insect hotels sponsored by the Sparkasse Amberg-Sulzbach were handed over. The company supplied a large number of additional information material as well as observational and identification sheets. In this way, the children can contribute to the preservation of insects in their facilities.

Further insect hotels are ready to be picked up – if you are a kindergarten and interested, please contact amberg-sulzbach@lbv.de.
